ΣΦΩ is the National Honor Society formed in 1980 to recognize the excellence of those
who study gerontology/aging, as well as of the professional aging service personnel.
USA has the only active chapter in the state of Alabama.

What is the Purpose of Sigma?
ΣΦΩ seeks to promote scholarship, professionalism, friendship, and services to older
persons, and to recognize, exemplary attainment in gerontology/aging studies and related

Who is Eligible for 会员 in Sigma?
会员 is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring or minoring
in gerontology/aging studies and related 字段, and who are in at least their second
入学期限. Undergraduates must have a grade point average of at least 3.3
在4上.0 scale, and graduate students must have at least a 3.5 GPA才有资格

How do I Join Sigma?
Prospective members can contact Dr. Roma Hanks, the Sigma 教师 Advisor
for more information about joining the Society though affiliation with their chapter.
New members receive a certificate with their name and the name of their chapter and
university, a lapel pin, a subscription to the Sigma Newsletter, and an
invitation to participate in the national meeting and all activities of the Society.
Dues for the Society are tax-deductible.
